• HISTORY

The Great Rug Company is a family owned and operated business founded by Ed Friedman, retired Senior Vice President of Foleys. We opened in our first 2500 sq. ft. location in October 1989 at the Harwin Discount Center in Houston. In September 1992, we moved to our new 12,000 sq. ft. showroom at 3415 Fondren in Houston (1 block south of Richmond), where we are still located today. The 10,000 sq. ft. Austin store located at 7501 Burnet Rd opened in April 1999.

The Great Rug Company carries the latest styles of wall-to-wall carpeting from all the major mills. We can also construct a custom rug made to your specifications in our Houston workroom.
